Welcome to our Swimming Club

Welcome to the Ginninderra Marlins Swim Club Website. We are based at CISAC Belconnen in the Australian Capital Territory of Australia. The Club has swimmers participating at all levels, from beginners to representatives at NSW Country, State and National Age Championships and school national and international swimming championships. Both competition and fitness squads are supported.

Ginninderra is a 2008 Gold level Go Club PB award winner.

World travellers

Good luck to Adam Pine who is competing with the Australian Swimming Team at the World Championships in Rome and Richard Eliason, competing with the Australian Global Games Swimming Team in Liberec, Czech Republic.

Also best of luck to Jac Craft who will be competing at the Canadian Trials in Montreal for the World Championships and to Bobby Folan who will be travelling with Richard as a coach on the Global Games Team.

Adam and Sarah, ACT Award Winners

At the recent annual ACT Swimming Presentation Dinner, Ginninderra swimmers Adam Pine and Sarah Baker received the Joan Kellet Awards for the Most Outstanding Male Swimmer and Most Outstanding Female Swimmer for 2008. Congratulations Adam and Sarah!

Arafura Games & Oceania Championships

Darwin, NT

Aaron Rhind has won several medals on day 1 and 2 of the Arafura Games and Oceania Championships in Darwin. Aaron has also broken the Australian record in the 200IM (SM6) by 0.82 seconds and narrowly missed the Australian record in the 100m Backstroke (S6) by 0.07 seconds. Congratulations Aaron!

Duel in the Pool

Several GSC swimmers were at the Duel in the Pool meet to cheer on Adam Pine, as well as helping with 'basket carrying' and 'running' jobs. Adam was competing with the Australian Team against Japan.

Australian Age Championships 2009

Ginninderra was ranked as the top ACT club at the 2009 National Age Championships, finishing with 3 medals, 10 top ten placings and numerous pbs.
Congratulations to our 2 medal winners, Sarah Baker and Samantha Marceddo. Congratulations to our finalists, Andy Chen, Mikayla Pelkowitz, Meagan Ramsay
and the Girls 18 & U Medley Relay team.

Congratulations Chelsea Stewart, who has been awarded the overall pointscore winner for Intermediate Girls in the 2008-09 Summer Development Series. 

Bradley wins ACT Age Champion

Congratulations to 8 year old Bradley Tuck, who has been named the boys 8/under ACT Age Champion for  2008/2009.

Australian Swimming Championships

When: 
March 17, 2009 - March 22, 2009
Venue: 
SOPAC

A record number of ten GSC swimmers qualified and competed at the Australian Swimming Championships in Sydney. Congratulations to all these swimmers and to coach Bobby Folan, on their fantastic results at this very highly competitive meet. A total of 15 personal bests were achieved as well as A Final and B Final swims. The highlight being Adam Pine’s silver medal swim in the finals of the 100m Fly, earning Adam a place on the Australian Swimming Team for the World Championships!

Also, congratulations to Richard Eliason. Richard's fantastic performance at the Championships has earned him a place on the 2009 Australian Global Games Swimming Team, competing in Liberec, Czech Republic in July!
